a8fa5d68d1 You had to dig through forum posts and man pages, endlessly tweaking your own code to get everything working. The book examples distribution package The book errata and updates page that I maintain . Python attacks on humans are extremelyrare. Will there be a future edition? (See also the "Coming Soon" note below on this page) I updated my other 2 books in September 2009 to cover both Python 2.6 and 3.1. One can say he builds his examples step by step, no one can get lost - even when he starts with threads, a subject many developers just do not like, he manages to make everyone completely aware of all those technical subtleties about beginning with threads. Then write down a list of concepts such as "flow control". Along the way, larger development concepts such as OOP and code reuse are put into action in practical and realistically-scaled programs you'll want to refer to and use. The cover font is Adobe ITC Garamond. Highly recommended for programmers new to Python, or Python programmers looking to up their game.Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend(4 of 4 customers found this review helpful)Was this review helpful?Yes/No-You may also flag this review4/19/2011(15 of 16 customers found this review helpful)3.0well written, but theclassic needs a cut ByChemaperfrom Valladolid, SpainAbout Me DeveloperProsEasy to understandWell-writtenConsSome parts "toot classic"Too many pagesBest UsesIntermediateStudentComments about oreilly Programming Python, 4th Edition:This review is a partial translation of my full review in Spanish: Sorry for my bad English and thanks O'Reilly Media for the free copy of the book (Blogger Review Program). The book "Programming Python" covers how to use Python in several domains: system programming, text processing (both traditional fields of Perl), rapid desktop GUIs development and Internet applications. The book does not cover the learning of the language. A book is not searchable electronic media, novel though this experience might be for most programmers, I know! You really, really cannot skimp on the index.
.. With this book we are closer to build full applications using the next generation programming language. But I really like this chapter. Due to its extension and coverage, we can call these two books as Volume 1 (Learning Python) and Volume 2 (Programming Python) each one with 1000+ pages. But until now, there has been no real manual on how to use Python for a variety of hacking tasks. But 1600 pages are a lot to read in a computer PDF reader and a ebook reader (EPUB, Kindle) is better for relax reading sessions. It will cover Python 3.X (only), and has been updated substantially for current Python best practice and new Python tools. With Python, you can do almost anything you can do with C++; but Python is an interpreted language designed for rapid application development and deployment.
